DIALOGUES


- Woman: Excuse me. Where’s the bank, please?
- Tourist: Pardon? I’m sorry, can you say that again, please?
- Woman: How do I get to the bank, please?
- Tourist: I’m sorry, I don’t speak English.


- Tourist: Excuse me. Is there a bank near here?
- Man: Yes, there’s one in New Road.
- Tourist: I’m sorry, I don’t live in London. Where’s New Road?
- Man: We are in the station. You go out of the station, you go straight on until you get to the end of Oxford Street. Then, you turn right and it’s the second building on your right. It’s next to the baker’s.


- Tourist: Where’s the sports centre?
- Woman: Go straight ahead in Oxford Street, take the first turning on your left at the tobacconist’s and go straight again until the end of the High Street. It’s the last building on your right, on the corner, next to the swimming-pool and opposite the Town Hall.
- Tourist: Thank you.


- Tourist: Excuse me. Is there a park near here?
- Woman: Yes, of course, it’s very near the station. You go out of the station and turn left. You go straight on until the end of the Station Road.
- Tourist: Thank you very much.


- Tourist: Excuse me. Where is the grocer’s?
- Man: It’s in London Road.
- Tourist: How do I get to London Road?
- Man: It’s very easy. You turn left when you go out of the station and take the first turning on your right. Go past the fish shop and the supermarket.
- Tourist: Thanks for your help. Bye.
